Matt Jacob
United States Soccer Federation ‘A’ License
With more than 30 years of proven success at the college, high school, and club levels, Matt Jacob brings exceptional expertise and leadership to the game of soccer. Recognized for his deep knowledge of sport, he is committed to developing skilled, confident players and motivating young athletes to reach their highest competitive potential.
He has coached soccer at the University of North Florida, Episcopal School of Dallas, Bryan Adams High School and currently holds the Technical Director and Assistant Coaching position with John Paul High School who recently won the 2024 TAPPS State Soccer Championship.
Coach Matt played four years of college soccer at Berkshire Christian College, Massachusetts on scholarship and had a short playing career with the Jacksonville Tea Men (NASL). His first college coaching job was at the University of North Florida and head Varsity coach at the University Christian School in Jacksonville, Florida.
Awarded the Graduate Assistant position at the Sothern Methodist University, he taught several Physical Education courses and received master’s degree from SMU. His first Texas high school job was with the Episcopal School of Dallas followed by a long twenty-two years of teaching and coaching at the Bryan Adams and Hillcrest High School. He has led the team to 15 consecutive winning seasons and reached the UIL Regional Quarterfinals twice in addition to four-time Coach of the Year.
Coach Matt further strengthens his coaching and educational leadership credentials with a masters degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University and State of Texas certifications in Physical Education, English as a Second Language, and Mid-Management.
To enhance quality coaching environment, player-centered soccer culture and offer top player instruction, Texas Global Soccer Academy was founded in 2012. The Academy offers Camps and Private training for players from grass-root levels to aspiring pros.
Coach Matt holds the USSF ‘A’ license and Netherlands Advanced Coaching Certificate and serves in the North Texas State Soccer Association Staff Coach.
